The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has initiated the sunset review investigation of the prevailing duties on August 10, 2018.Earlier this month, the Commerce and Industry Ministry in reply to a Lok Sabha question had said the difficulties being faced by domestic manufacturers of two-wheeler alloy wheels have been brought to the notice of the government.According to the ACMA, there is an annual requirement of around 35 million alloy wheels in India for two wheelers, out of which only 13 million wheels are being produced by domestic manufacturers while the remaining around 22 million wheels are being imported, mainly from China.
